Susan Wall joined the McNair Charleston office in January 2012 in its Litigation Practice Group. She has been in active practice as a litigator in a large firm setting for over 30 years. Her primary practice areas are in handling complex litigation in the areas of business torts, defense of professionals and class actions.  She is an experienced trial attorney in both federal and state courts and handles matters for clients throughout the state.

Susan is admitted to practice in South Carolina and California and before the United States Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. She is also certified in South Carolina state and federal courts as a mediator.

Susan graduated cum laude from the Seattle University School of Law in 1979 where she was a member of the Seattle Law Review. She spent her third year at Stanford Law School. Susan is actively involved in legal professional organizations. She has been a member of the SC Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness for more than fifteen years, and was a member of the Judicial Merit Selection Commission. Susan is a frequent presenter on legal ethics and malpractice prevention issues.

  • Represented hundreds of professionals including attorneys, accountants, agents, brokers, bankers, corporate officers & directors, hospital administrators, engineers and surveyors in malpractice, breach of employment and securities related cases
  • Defended clients in business tort cases, insurance coverage matters and class actions in federal and state courts
  • Argued multiple appeals before the South Carolina Supreme Court, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Lead counsel in constitutional case for former South Carolina Governor James Hodges before the South Carolina Supreme Court, Hodges v. Rainey
  • Co-counsel for Respondents on the Brief to the United States Supreme Court, Federal Maritime Commission v. South Carolina State Ports Authority
