| Overview | Michael Jordan chairs the estate planning and probate practice for the Firm. He works with his clients to develop individual estate plans that help his clients meet their estate planning objectives.
Michael became a shareholder of the Firm by merger in the Hilton Head Island office. Prior to becoming a shareholder in theFirm, Michael was secretary and a shareholder and managed the estate planning and probate practice of the Bethea, Jordan & Griffin law firm on Hilton Head. He was a founding member of that firm. Since coming to Hilton Head Island, his entire professional practice has been with the predecessor Bethea, Jordan & Griffin law firm and, now, McNair Law Firm.
Prior to coming to Hilton Head Island in 1973, Michael worked for the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.
Michael is a native of Tucson, Arizona. Michael and his wife, Virginia, have been residents of Hilton Head Island, since 1973. They have three adult daughters and six grandchildren. |

| | | Professional and Community Involvement |
- Over the past 35 years he has served in numerous civic and charitable organizations on Hilton Head Island.
- Michael was actively involved on many committees dealing with the creation of local government for Hilton Head Island, including the chairmanship of the Committee on Self Government Options from 1978 to 1980; and member of its Governmental Sub-Committee, Chairman of the Committee for Incorporation from 1980 to 1983; Co-Chairman of the Transition Committee during the incorporation process in 1983 and was the first town attorney for Hilton Head Island in 1983. His additional community service is extensive and varied.
- Michael was previously elected and served for over 10 years as a member of the board directors of both the Association of Sea Pines Plantation Property Owners and Community Services Associates, Inc. These are the property owner and community associations governing the Sea Pines Plantation.
- He is currently serving as the vice-president and board member of the Sea Pines Country Club, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
